The loss of Brendon is felt by many we will remember in many positive ways. With a big heart, great smile, sense of humour, always a fine story at hand.
He enjoyed cooking and uppity foods, like that French stuff and game which his friends called “Fowl” for his benefit which he loved consequently.
Train trips from one side of Russia to the other “nip off Vodka each stop” Music Mi-Sex, Dragon, Split-Enz.
He couldn’t give a dam about most material things apart from the family kilt and car’s never to be purchased new.
From boasting that “only 3 teachers took early retirement after having him as a student”.
Bed Bath & Beyond, gold mints, the odd shot, cold beer and free beer and above all his family.
Condolences to the all the family.
RIP “Big Fella”
To Chrissy, Murray and families, I am so very sorry to hear that Brendon has passed away. I have so many cherished memories of our times as mates in Melbourne. Brendon had a big heart and was always there for everybody no matter what. My heart is filled with sorrow and we have all lost a great friend. May you Rest In Peace my old friend, you will never be forgotten, dance with the angels in heaven. From Derek Greening, Melbourne
Hi Brendon (Mate)
I met you at Noah’s ChCh when I was a lad, my first year of work, you had a big cheerful presence always that wry smile. I remember you loved music and lent me your Kiss records you taught me a lot.
We all met up again in Melbourne at Noah’s, what fun we had from Tiki & Johns to Mooney Ponds, Flemington, Valley, Caulfield tracks we saw them all, we all won on Kiwi! The memories of travelling around Melbourne seeing the sights and lots of fun filled late nights with you I will always treasure.
Back to NZ again – Noah’s then to Lyttelton Top Club. We gave it a shot with the Fourships Restaurant feeding family, friends, locals and day trippers. We met great people, we just had fun.
Chrissie came into your life and you thought you had better make her your wife, so down the aisle you went – WHAT on such a big event (Crusaders & Eels games) I knew then she was very special to you.
Your loss seems unreal. We will remember all the great times and your big smile.
May you Rest In Peace my friend you are forever in our thoughts.
Until we meet again. I won’t be late I will bring a crate!
Ian and Rachel xx
We are so sorry to have just learned of Brendon’s death. We met him when my husband, Steve, and I were staying at the Daffodil House during Steve’s radiation treatments.
Brendon was such a kind and caring man and willing to help us in anyway he could. He and my husband had some nice talks together.
Hugs from Susie and Steve in Nelson.
