Our family remember Dr Bodle for his time and kindness when my sister was dying with cancer when she was 32. He was a wonderful doctor.
MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
FROM PAULEEN DRABBLE AND FAMILY
I knew Hugh in the years 1986 to 1990 when I worked on The Coast. I found him to be a true professional and skilled surgeon. We presented a community seminar once at the Hokitika with Dr Brian Weston, one of his colleagues. Fond memories. RIP.

I am sad to read of Hughs passing. I remember him as a very professional man, but always had time for Nurses , a cheerful chat, and sharing of knowledge.
A great team member. Fondly remembed.
We remember Hugh with much appreciation, as 45 years ago he operated on our 5-week-old son. His care of us, the anxious parents, was exemplary.

I just read about the death of Doctor Hugh Bodle and felt I must acknowledge him for his service. He used to travel up to Reefton to consult with Reeftoners in the Reefton Hospital out patients department. He was a very humble, happy consultant who listened carefully to all concerns then would act to put in place a credible plan of assistance. Many times as a Registered Nurse I was released to share concerns with him. He really was a very special, beloved consultant so popular with patients and members of the multi- disciplinary team. Rest in peace doctor. Condolences to your family.
